Ultrasound is a painless and non invasive way of dynamically observing musculo skeletal structure and function. As there is no dangerous radiation involved it provides an ideal way of timely investigating many sporting and other physical injuries. Furthermore, where local injection or aspiration is the appropriate treatment, it is possible to visualize the point of the needle enabling precise delivery to the site of the pathology. Iota Sports Medicine at Oxenford Medical Centre is an accredited provider of this service.
Australia is currently experiencing an epidemic of Whooping Cough (Pertussis). This disease is especially dangerous for newborns. Health Professionals are recommending babies first vaccinations to be attended at 6 weeks of age to enable early protection. Next vaccine is then due at 4 months. At our Practice we are proud to provide an added service of reviewing milestones for each immunization age group to provide early detection of possible developmental delays to ensure early intervention to achieve optimal outcomes.
